Role Description The Manager, Tech-Biz Development is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore at A*STAR ARTC. This role is responsible for identifying and developing technology-driven business opportunities, working closely with industry partners, research teams, and internal stakeholders to translate R&D outcomes into viable solutions and services. Day-to-day tasks include assessing market and technology trends, scoping collaborative projects, coordinating technical and business inputs, and managing project pipelines from conception to implementation. The manager will engage with partner organizations to understand their challenges, propose advanced manufacturing and remanufacturing solutions, and support the preparation of proposals, agreements, and project plans. The role also involves monitoring project performance, ensuring timely delivery, and contributing to strategic planning for ARTC’s technology and business growth.

Roles & responsibilities

• Generate leads, prospect new businesses by networking, or through other means of generating interest from potential clients
• Take ownership of customer accounts, manage and strengthen relationships with executive C/B-level stakeholders
• Build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities for growth, negotiate and close business deals
• Work closely with the technical team and lead translation of research outcomes to business viable products
• Lead conversations with customers to capture business and technical requirements to provide proposals for projects
• Coordinate and integrate not only ARTC but also sister research institutes to deliver business viable solutions
• Maintain customer relationships to strategically place new products and drive projects for long-term growth
• Create and implement business plans, prepare and conduct commercial growth presentations
• Lead translation of research outcomes to industry adoption

Job requirements

• Bachelor in any engineering and science related discipline
• Experience working in the Energy & Chemical sector would be an added bonus
• Proven track record of successful business deals closure
• At least 3 years of working experience in B2B business development, enterprise sales/account management or marketing
• Strong business acumen, driven to deliver customer requirements and project deadlines
• A team player and technically motivated to solve problems, innovate and deliver to internal and external customers
• Professional presentation and communication skills for management level audience, both written and verbal.
• Positive attitude, resilient and agile, quick to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
