Responsibilities

Job Overview:


We are looking for a detail-oriented Risk Analyst to support trading risk management and ensure accurate monitoring of physical and derivatives exposures. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of commodity markets, and experience in trade lifecycle and risk reporting, with the ability to maintain data integrity and collaborate across trading, finance, and operations teams to support effective risk control and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely capture of all physical and derivatives trades in the in-house ETRM system, maintaining high data integrity standards.
  • Monitor and analyse trading exposures across physical and paper portfolios, ensuring compliance with approved risk limits.
  • Prepare, maintain, and upload market prices and forward curves into the ETRM system to support accurate mark-to-market valuation and risk reporting.
  • Produce daily exposure and P&L reports, providing clear explanations of key drivers behind profit and loss movements.
  • Perform end-to-end reconciliation across front, middle, and back-office functions, including daily and month-end P&L reconciliation with Finance and HQ, ensuring alignment and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Support and maintain hedging documentation, ensuring proper tracking of relationships between physical exposures and hedging instruments.
  • Collaborate with traders, operations, finance, and IT to resolve system, valuation, and data issues, and contribute to continuous process improvements.



Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative disciplines.
  • 1–2 years of experience in commodity market risk, trading support, or related roles.
  • Understanding of global oil markets, pricing mechanisms, and commodity trading dynamics.
  • Good understanding of the full trade lifecycle, including front-to-back processes.
  • Familiarity with derivatives instruments and their application in hedging strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ETRM systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
