The role:

The Finance Executive supports the day-to-day finance operations, including processing of transactions, reconciliations and maintenance of financial records. The role ensures accuracy, timeliness and compliance with internal policies, and provides support for month-end closing, audit and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions, including donations, grants and other receipts, ensuring transactions are processed accurately, in a timely manner and in compliance with policies

  • Handle collections, including GIRO, credit card and online donations, and perform related reconciliations

  • Perform monthly reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and donation reconciliations

  • Process staff claims and ensure completeness and accuracy of supporting documents and account coding

  • Support month-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliation schedules

  • Support process improvement and automation initiatives within the Finance function

  • Maintain proper financial records and ensure completeness of documentation

  • Support audit requirements by preparing schedules and necessary documentation

  • Handle enquiries from internal stakeholders and provide timely support

  • Perform administrative, accounting and ad hoc duties as assigned

  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accountancy or related field

  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in a social service organisation is an advantage

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel

  • Experience with accounting systems is an advantage

  • Meticulous and able to meet deadlines

  • Strong time management and good communication skills

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
