Responsibilities

We're Hiring: Purchaser (Tanker)!

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Purchaser to join our team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, specifically within the tanker industry, and possess exceptional negotiation skills to ensure the best pricing and quality for our operations.

Role: Purchaser (Tanker)

Monthly Salary: $4000 - $5000

What You'll Do:

  • Procure vessel spares, stores, lubricants, provisions, and services in accordance with approved requisitions and company procedures.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring proper authorization, accuracy, and timely closure.
  • Source competitive quotations, perform price comparisons, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal cost and quality.
  • Coordinate closely with Technical Superintendents, Operations, and Fleet teams to ensure timely delivery to vessels worldwide.
  • Monitor and expedite outstanding orders, arranging deliveries at the most cost-effective and operationally suitable ports.
  • Ensure all procured items comply with technical specifications, class, flag, and company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier documentation, and inventory-related reports for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Handle delivery discrepancies, quality issues, and claims, following up with suppliers for timely resolution.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain an approved vendor list, recommending improvements where necessary.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, budgets, and internal control procedures.


What We're Looking For:

  • Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably with a shipowner or ship management company.
  • Good knowledge of marine spares, stores, logistics, and shipboard procurement processes.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills with the ability to work independently under time pressure.
