Job Overview

We are seeking a Japanese-speaking Interpreter & Translator to facilitate effective communication between Japanese System Engineers, local project teams, customers, and business partners. This role will support IT projects by providing accurate interpretation during meetings, translating technical and business documents, and assisting with documentation to ensure smooth collaboration across multilingual teams.

Candidates with an interest or background in the IT industry will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Japanese to English and English to Japanese interpretation during meetings, discussions, workshops, and project activities.
• Deliver consecutive or simultaneous interpretation based on meeting requirements.
• Translate business and technical documents, including reports, meeting minutes, emails, presentations, and project documentation.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of project documents and technical materials.
• Facilitate clear communication between Japanese engineers, customers, local staff, and business partners.
• Ensure translation accuracy while maintaining technical terminology and business context.
• Assist project teams with administrative and documentation tasks as required.
• Support daily communication to ensure smooth project execution and stakeholder collaboration.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Japanese Studies, Linguistics, Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English, with strong spoken and written communication skills.
• Experience in interpretation and translation within a business or corporate environment.
• Ability to translate technical and business documentation accurately.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multicultural teams.
• Prior experience supporting IT projects or working within the technology industry will be an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Japanese expatriates or Japanese-speaking project teams.
• Familiarity with IT terminology and software development or infrastructure projects.
• JLPT N1 or N2 certification will be an advantage.
