Role Description This is a full-time, on-site SmartPlant Instrument role. The role involves developing, configuring, and maintaining SmartPlant Instrumentation databases and related documentation for engineering projects. Daily tasks include creating and updating instrument index data, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and datasheets, while ensuring compliance with project standards and industry practices. The position requires coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate instrumentation data, resolve technical issues, and support design changes. The role also involves performing data validation, quality checks, and providing support during project execution, commissioning, and handover.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles and SmartPlant Instrumentation or similar engineering design tools.
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting and diagnostics related to instrumentation systems and database configuration.
  • Experience in calibration activities and verification of instrument performance against specifications.
  • Skills in preventive maintenance planning and documentation for instrumentation assets.
  • Research skills to review standards, new technologies, and best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related field).
  • Familiarity with oil and gas, petrochemical, or related process industry projects.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work on-site in Kajang and manage tasks within project schedules and quality requirements.
