Position: Metal Scrap Trader.

Base Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Package: As per industry standard.

Experience: 05 - 10 years of experience in scrap or commodity trading

Education: MBA in International Trade (preferred) / Postgraduate degree in Commerce/Economics / Bachelor’s in Business Management (Marketing/Operations)

Travel: 75%

We are a Metals and Mining company looking to hire a driven and commercially minded Metal Scrap Trader to join our trading team. This role involves sourcing, trading, and managing physical metal scrap transactions across regional and international markets, while ensuring profitability, compliance, and strong counterparty relationships.

This opportunity is well-suited for early to mid-career professionals with exposure to commodity or scrap trading and a strong analytical mindset.

Role:

• Source, negotiate, and execute physical trades in ferrous and/or non-ferrous metal scrap in the international market.
• Monitor market trends, pricing movements, premiums, and arbitrage opportunities.
• Execute trades within approved limits and ensure accurate post-trade documentation.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, recyclers, processors, and buyers.
• Conduct basic counterparty due diligence and coordinate with internal risk/compliance teams.
• Liaise with logistics providers, inspection agencies, and warehouse partners.
• Coordinate with internal teams (logistics, finance, operations) for smooth trade execution.
• Track shipments, payment cycles, and contractual obligations support business development and expansion into new markets.
• Prior exposure to commodity trading, metal scrap, recycling, or raw materials markets.
• Experience across Middle East, South Asia, or emerging trade corridors is an advantage.
• Understanding of physical trading environments and strong negotiation and communication skills
