Job Description

Responsibilities

To provide compliance coverage across Asia-Pacific divisions in a financial institution. You will advise on regulatory risks, conduct investigations, and enhance control frameworks to safeguard the firm’s operations.

Responsibilities

  • Advise divisions on compliance matters including outsourcing, regulatory reporting, cloud governance, data confidentiality, and senior manager accountability to mitigate risks
  • Conduct risk assessments and monitor adherence to regulatory requirements across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Asia-Pacific markets
  • Perform surveillance and investigations on business activities to identify and manage compliance issues
  • Test and improve control frameworks to ensure effectiveness and regulatory compliance
  • Analyze regulatory changes and enforcement actions to evaluate their impact on business operations
  • Review surveillance alerts and conduct forensic reviews to detect potential compliance breaches
  • Draft and update policies and procedures to maintain compliance standards
  • Deliver compliance training and communications to promote a strong compliance culture across divisions
  • Collaborate with Vice Presidents and global teams to support compliance initiatives and respond to regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries

Required competencies and certifications

  • Knowledge of Singapore and Hong Kong regulatory environments preferred
  • Experience in compliance or risk management in a financial institution
  • Proficiency in securities and derivatives markets operations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage stakeholders and influence compliance outcomes
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills applied to compliance risk identification and mitigation
  • Open to Auditors who have experience in financial institution audit

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant discipline
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience or ex-auditors with experience in financial institutions
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking under tight deadlines
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative team player
  • This is currently a contract from September to December 2026, subject to extension.
