An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing organisation specialising in
hyperscale data centre infrastructure projects across Southeast Asia.
As the
Deputy Project Manager, you will support the Project Manager in delivering large-scale mission-critical data centre projects from planning through construction, testing, commissioning, and final client handover. This role is ideal for experienced project professionals with a strong
MEP background who are ready to take on greater leadership responsibilities.
Project Management
- Support the end-to-end delivery of large-scale data centre projects across Southeast Asia.
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and successful project completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Technical & Construction Coordination
- Coordinate MEP works including Electrical, Mechanical (HVAC), Plumbing, Fire Protection, UPS, Diesel Generator, Chiller Systems, and other critical infrastructure.
- Manage consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Resolve technical and construction issues promptly to minimise project delays.
Procurement & Contract Management
- Support tender activities and procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Monitor procurement schedules and manage project contracts and variations.
Cost, Quality & Safety
- Monitor project costs and support budget control.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, EHS requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Participate in risk identification and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Coordinate installation, testing, commissioning, and final project handover.
- Ensure project documentation and client acceptance requirements are completed.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with clients, consultants, Project Management Consultants (PMC), contractors, and government authorities.
- Support project reporting and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Team Leadership
- Support the Project Manager in leading and mentoring the project team.
- Contribute to project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (HVAC), Building Services, MEP Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing data centre MEP projects.
- Strong understanding of mission-critical systems including:
- UPS
- Diesel Generators
- Chiller Plants
- Electrical Distribution
- HVAC Systems
- Experience in project planning, scheduling, procurement, cost control, contract administration, testing & commissioning, and project handover.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and Project Management Consultants (PMC).
- Overseas project experience is an advantage.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in a multicultural project environment.
