Job Role: Shift Lead DCOE

JOB DESCRIPTION
Operations & Incident Management
•Lead and oversee all operational activities during the assigned shift.
• Ensure stable operation of GPU clusters, InfiniBand fabric, Ethernet networks, storage, and supporting infrastructure.
• Act as primary escalation point for L1 engineers.
• Ensure at least one engineer remains on console at all times.
• Own P1/P2 incident coordination and major incident bridges.
• Validate troubleshooting, escalation, and recovery actions.
• Ensure root cause and corrective actions are captured.
• Review shift handover and ensure continuity.
Service Governance, ITSM & Customer Communication
• Own service governance during shift and protect customer SLAs.
• Ensure correct incident priority classification and SLA timers.
• Enforce ticket quality standards (fields, updates, evidence, categorization).
• Review and approve customer-facing ticket updates for major incidents.
• Support improvement of Jira workflows, forms, and automations.
• Review dashboards and validate data accuracy.
Vendor & Data Center Coordination
• Coordinate with vendors for GPU, IB fabric, rack-level, and DC Ops facilities teams.
• Open, track, and chase vendor cases and validate restoration.
• Track vendor SLA adherence and raise chronic issues.
• Approve and control DC work orders.
• Ensure DC activity is ticket based, time controlled and evidenced.
Compliance, Reporting & Team Enablement
• Ensure evidence is captured in tickets and SOPs are followed.
• Support ISO / SOC audit evidence requests.
• Provide shift summary metrics (P1/P2 counts, SLA risk, vendor pending, DC work).
• Coach L1 engineers on troubleshooting, ITSM and operational discipline.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
• 5+ years in IT infrastructure operations or data center operations.
• Prior experience as Shift Lead / Senior NOC Engineer / Operations Lead.
• Strong ITSM and incident management experience.
• Experience working with ticketing and IT service management tools (e.g., Jira Service Management or similar).
• Familiarity with GPU hardware platforms (e.g., NVIDIA GPUs) and basic awareness of AI / HPC environments.
• Basic Linux operating system skills (command line usage, log review, service status, file systems).
• Experience using monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or similar).
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (ports, link status, VLANs, optics types, fiber vs copper).
• Familiarity with physical data center environments, including racking, cabling, labeling, and safe handling practices.
• Hands-on experience performing IT hardware replacement and basic break-fix tasks.
• Familiarity with InfiniBand or high-speed fabrics (advantage).Strong coordination and communication skills
• Ability to write SOPs and runbooks.
• Willingness to work in 24x7 shift environment.
• Team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
