Responsibilities

Make food that helps people recover and feel cared for every day. If you enjoy hands-on cooking with a clear purpose, consider working with us at IHEAL MEDICAL CENTRE, where our kitchen supplies nutritious meals tailored to patient needs and supports clinical teams across wards. We are a practical, patient-focused operation that values consistency, respect, and steady teamwork.

As a Kitchen Crew member you are the backbone that keeps meal service predictable and safe across shifts. You will coordinate meal production, follow strict food safety practices, manage stock levels and ordering, and work closely with dietitians to meet therapeutic requirements. Success means accurate menus, timely tray delivery, and a calm, organized kitchen during busy periods.

Daily tasks include planning balanced menus, preparing and presenting meals, baking and beverage prep, and training or mentoring other kitchen staff when required. You will also maintain cleaning and sanitation routines, record inventory movements, and adapt menus to patient preferences and clinical guidance. We welcome candidates who bring practical kitchen sense, a willingness to learn food trends, and a readiness to improve processes that benefit patients.

Your Growth & Impact

  • Build practical culinary skills in a healthcare setting by rotating through menu planning, batch cooking, and plated service. Gain experience with portion control and standardised recipes used in hospital kitchens.
  • Expand your understanding of clinical nutrition through hands-on work with dietitians and by preparing therapeutic and texture-modified diets. Learn to interpret dietary notes and adjust meals accordingly.
  • Develop supervisory experience by mentoring junior staff and leading small shifts during peak meal times. Practice clear communication and basic rostering or shift handover routines.
  • Strengthen your operational skills by handling inventory, ordering supplies, and reducing waste through portion management. See direct impact when stock stays accurate and meal production runs smoothly.
  • Connect with a supportive healthcare team and build a reliable work record valued by clinical colleagues and patients. Position yourself for longer-term growth within food services or hospital operations.
