Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Lecturer in Structural Civil Engineering based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The lecturer will design and deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in structural and civil engineering, including preparing lesson plans, lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and assessment materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising student projects, providing academic advising, grading assignments and examinations, and offering constructive feedback to support student learning. The lecturer will contribute to curriculum development, ensure alignment with professional and accreditation standards, and participate in quality assurance activities. Additional duties may include engaging in research or scholarly activities, collaborating with colleagues on academic and industry projects, attending faculty meetings, and contributing to outreach and professional engagement initiatives.
Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline; professional registration (e.g., with a recognized engineering body) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis, design of concrete and steel structures, construction materials, and relevant codes/standards; practical or industry experience in structural civil engineering is highly beneficial.
• Demonstrated teaching skills, including curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment design; prior experience in higher education teaching or tutoring is preferred.
• Ability to use educational technologies and engineering software (e.g., structural analysis and design tools, CAD/BIM, learning management systems) to support teaching and learning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex engineering concepts clearly to diverse learners.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to faculty initiatives.
