Role Description This full-time Computer Technician role at archyTECH is a hybrid position based in Kuala Lumpur, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. The Computer Technician will perform day-to-day tasks such as installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware, operating systems, and peripheral devices for internal users and clients. The role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, performing routine maintenance, and documenting support activities in ticketing systems. The technician will assist in setting up workstations, managing software updates, and ensuring systems are secure and functioning efficiently. Collaboration with other IT staff, clear communication with users, and adherence to company procedures and service standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical support skills, including responding to user issues, providing remote and on-site assistance, and documenting resolutions.
  • Hands-on experience with computer maintenance and computer repair, including hardware installation, component replacement, and system optimization.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, including diagnosing hardware, software, and network-related problems and implementing effective solutions.
  • Working knowledge of common operating systems (such as Windows, macOS, and Linux) and basic system configuration and administration.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft or similar) or equivalent practical experience in IT support environments.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in clear, accessible language.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain accuracy in a hybrid work setting.
  • Experience with basic networking concepts, security best practices, and ticketing or help desk systems is beneficial.
