Responsibilities
A leading global clearing and financing bank is adding to its Hong Kong Securities Finance desk. This is a front-office trading seat with real ownership of a book at a well-established international name. Two routes in are welcome: experienced SBL traders, and SBL operations / middle-office professionals ready to make the move onto the trading desk.
What you'll do
- Execute securities borrowing and lending trades within approved limits, and run your books with a close eye on P&L
- Manage internal inventory against external borrow costs, fees and interest, keeping funding efficient
- Handle corporate actions, dividends and market events across the lifecycle of your trades
- Work closely with counterparties, clients and regional Operations to keep settlement clean and collateral used smartly
- Help sharpen the desk's processes, controls and automation as the business grows
What you'll bring
- Hands-on experience in securities finance / SBL, either as a trader or in SBL operations / middle office looking to step into a front-office role
- Strong numeracy, sharp attention to detail, and a controls-minded, professional approach
- SFC Type 1 (Modules 1A, 6, 6A), or the ability to complete them after joining
Bonus points for: collateral or corporate-actions exposure, strong Excel/VBA, and Python or data tools.
