Role Overview
This role is responsible for performing Name Screening and financial crime compliance checks on customers and entities to identify potential risks relating to sanctions, PEPs, adverse media and other watchlist alerts. The successful candidate will investigate and assess potential matches, conduct relevant research, document findings and escalate cases where required, while ensuring screening activities are completed accurately and within the required SLA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform Name Screening on customers, entities and relevant parties against internal and external watchlists.
- Review and investigate potential screening alerts, including PEP, sanctions, watchlist and adverse media alerts.
- Conduct research using internal systems, public sources and relevant screening databases to identify potential financial crime risks.
- Analyse screening results and determine whether alerts are true matches, false positives or require further investigation.
- Conduct customer and entity due diligence to support AML/CFT requirements.
- Escalate confirmed or potential compliance risks to the relevant Compliance or Risk teams.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of screening investigations and case dispositions.
- Ensure screening activities are completed accurately and within the required SLA, productivity and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Operations and other internal stakeholders on escalated cases.
- Support the review and improvement of SOPs, screening processes and workflow efficiency.
- Stay updated on relevant AML/CFT, sanctions and financial crime compliance requirements.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the management.
Requirements:
- Degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business, Compliance or a related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in Name Screening, Transaction Monitoring, AML, KYC or financial crime compliance.
- Name Screening or Transaction Monitoring experience will be given first priority.
- Candidates with KYC/CDD experience may also be considered.
- Experience in sanctions, PEP, adverse media or watchlist screening will be an advantage.
- Experience investigating and assessing screening alerts, including potential matches and false positives, will be highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical, investigation and research skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a high-volume environment.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while meeting quality, productivity and SLA requirements.
- Experience with screening tools, AML systems or compliance databases will be an advantage.
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
