Smartlink Engineering Hiring! Full Time COSTING AND PROJECT ENGINEER in Pulau Pinang, Earn up to MYR 4,800 - Ricebowl

Smartlink Engineering Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian engineering and manufacturing company serving the semiconductor and high-technology industries. We specialise in the design, fabrication, assembly, integration and delivery of industrial automation equipment, precision machinery and customised engineering solutions.

As part of our expansion, we are looking for a Costing and Project Engineer (executive level) to join our team in Batu Kawan, Penang.

Key Responsibilities :

Costing & Commercial

• Review customer RFQs, drawings, specifications and BOMs.
• Prepare product costing and quotations covering materials, labour, tooling, machine time, logistics and overheads.
• Analyse cost structures, pricing and profitability, and support cost optimisation initiatives.

Sourcing & Purchasing

• Source and evaluate suppliers for materials, components, tooling and subcontract services.
• Obtain, compare and negotiate supplier quotations, pricing and delivery terms.
• Maintain supplier relationships and support supplier evaluation.

Project & NPI

• Coordinate projects from RFQ, prototype and pilot build through to mass production.
• Monitor project schedules, progress, deliverables and risks.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Production, Quality, Planning and Sales teams.
• Support engineering changes, customer requirements and product transfer to mass production.

Engineering & Manufacturing

• Review product and manufacturing requirements for feasibility.
• Support BOM, routing, process flow, DFM/DFA, tooling and process improvement activities.
• Coordinate sample builds, production trials and first article activities.

Customer & Reporting

• Coordinate project-related communication with customers and suppliers.
• Attend project meetings and provide project updates.
• Maintain costing, quotation, BOM and project documentation.
• Prepare costing and project status reports.

Requirements :

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related disciplines.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in costing, sourcing, procurement, project management, NPI or manufacturing.
• Experience in RFQ, quotation preparation, BOM costing and supplier sourcing.
• Experience in semiconductor, EMS, cable harness, box-build or high-technology manufacturing is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical and project coordination skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Willing to work in Batu Kawan, Penang.
