Responsibilities
A safety coordinator
monitors and enforces workplace safety policies, inspects work sites, and trains staff to prevent accidents and ensure legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct Inspections:
Check work areas daily or weekly to find hazards and unsafe behaviors.
Ensure Compliance:
Follow local workplace safety and health laws and rules.
Investigate Incidents:
Review accidents or near-misses, find the root causes, and write reports.
Train Employees:
Run safety orientation, tool-box talks, and emergency drills.
Manage Records:
Keep files of safety audits, training records, and injury logs.
Act as Liaison:
Connect workers and management on daily safety matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge of Rules:
Understanding of local safety acts and guidelines.
Communication:
Clear verbal and written skills to teach and report.
Attention to Detail:
Ability to spot small hazards before they cause harm.
