We are dynamic, entrepreneurial and deeply embedded in the industries we serve, combining sector expertise with practical, commercially focused advice for domestic and international clients.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded transactional lawyer looking to build a specialist practice in our commodities group's climate and structured finance team.

This is an opportunity to join a top-rated international law firm and work alongside market-leading lawyers on complex cross-border commodities, structured finance, derivatives and climate finance transactions.

Requirements and Skills

  • 3–4 PQE with a transactional finance background
  • Strong academic track record with a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent
  • Experience in banking and finance, structured finance, derivatives, asset finance or commodity finance transactions
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and transaction management skills
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating finance and commercial documentation
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good commercial awareness and an interest in commodities, finance and energy markets
  • Attention to detail and good practical transaction management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Efficient, organised and able to demonstrate excellent time management skills
  • A team player with effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident, proactive and able to take ownership of assigned work whilst recognising when to seek support and guidance
  • Personable and able to communicate comfortably with colleagues, counterparties and clients

On Offer

Working alongside experienced practitioners, you will gain exposure to:

  • Commodity and structured finance transactions
  • Commodity trading and supply arrangements
  • Derivatives and risk management documentation
  • Carbon markets, environmental products and climate finance matters
  • Cross-border transactions involving clients, financial institutions and commodity market participants across Asia and beyond

You will work directly with clients and counterparties on a variety of matters, taking ownership of keywork streams while developing specialist expertise in the commodities space.

If you are looking to develop your career with a leading international law firm and build a specialist practice in this area, we would be pleased to hear from you.
