Company Description Louis Liaw Chambers is a Kuala Lumpur–based law firm specializing in employment-related dispute resolution and advisory services. The firm represents employees, employers, professional bodies, and international organizations in a broad range of employment matters. Its work covers labour, industrial, and civil court claims, statutory defenses and actions involving EPF and SOCSO, and internal processes such as fact-finding exercises and domestic inquiries. The firm also advises on employment and service agreements, workplace policies, reorganizations and retrenchments, and disciplinary actions. Louis Liaw Chambers is focused on providing practical, tailored solutions to complex employment-related legal problems.


Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Legal Associate role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The Senior Legal Associate will manage and conduct employment-related litigation, including drafting pleadings, submissions, and other court documents, and appearing in labour, industrial, and civil courts. The role includes advising clients on statutory compliance, EPF and SOCSO matters, workplace investigations, domestic inquiries, and disciplinary processes. The Senior Legal Associate will review, draft, and negotiate employment and service agreements, workplace policies, and documentation relating to reorganizations, retrenchments, and performance management. The role also involves supervising junior team members, coordinating with external stakeholders and authorities, and contributing to knowledge development, training, and client education initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Law and employment-related Legal Issues, with experience in dispute resolution and advisory work.
  • Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting pleadings, contracts, policies, opinions, and correspondence.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills for assessing complex fact patterns, interpreting legislation and case law, and proposing practical solutions.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, for advocacy in court, client advisory, negotiation, and internal collaboration.
  • Recognized law degree and admission as an advocate and solicitor; several years of post-qualification experience in employment or litigation practice preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple matters and deadlines, and maintain high professional and ethical standards.
  • Strong client service orientation, attention to detail, and readiness to handle sensitive workplace and employment issues.
  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia an advantage; prior experience in Kuala Lumpur or similar jurisdictions is beneficial.
