About Our Client

Our client is an established player within the façade, building envelope, and architectural construction industry, delivering specialist façade solutions for commercial, residential, hospitality, and large-scale developments.

As part of its continued project expansion, the company is looking for an experienced Facade Designer to join its technical design team and support projects in Taiwan.

Location & Coverage

• Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

• Temporary Relocation / project posting to Taipei, Taiwan.

• Regional and international project exposure

Reporting Line

• Reporting to: Design Manager / Technical Manager

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a technically capable Facade Designer to support the design development and documentation of façade and building envelope systems.

You will work closely with architects, engineers, project teams, consultants, and internal stakeholders to translate architectural concepts into practical façade solutions while ensuring design quality, constructability, and project requirements are met.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Developing façade designs, shop drawings, technical drawings, and design documentation

• Supporting design development from concept through detailed design and construction stages

• Preparing and reviewing drawings, details, elevations, sections, and façade layouts

• Coordinating façade designs with architectural, structural, and MEP requirements

• Working closely with project teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues

• Reviewing project specifications, architectural drawings, and technical requirements

• Supporting material selection and façade system development based on project requirements

• Assisting with design changes, technical submissions, and construction documentation

• Identifying potential design, coordination, and constructability issues before they affect project delivery

• Participating in design coordination meetings and providing technical input where required

• Ensuring drawings and documentation are accurate, coordinated, and delivered according to project timelines

Candidate Profile

Our ideal candidate will have most of the following:

• Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Technology, or related disciplines

• Around 3–5 years of relevant experience in façade design, curtain wall, building envelope, architectural detailing, or related environments

• Practical experience preparing façade / curtain wall drawings and technical documentation

• Familiarity with façade systems, materials, construction methods, and detailing

• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit, Rhino, or other 3D/design software is advantageous

• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings

• Strong understanding of design coordination and constructability

• Good attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple project requirements

• Comfortable working with international project teams and adapting to different project requirements

• Fluent in English and Mandarin — both languages are important as the role involves regular communication and coordination with local teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders in Taiwan

• Willingness to be based in Taipei for the project assignment
