Role overview:

• This role involves providing essential support in emergency and critical care, including triaging new cases, assisting with anesthesia monitoring, and aiding emergency veterinarians with inpatient care, particularly in the ICU.
• Responsibilities also include performing radiographic imaging, restraining patients, preparing for surgery, managing postoperative recovery, and ensuring effective client communication.
• The position requires active participation in inpatient rounds, ongoing professional development, and the flexibility to take on additional tasks as needed to support the team.

Job Description:

• Triage and facilitate the admission of new cases.
• Support anesthesia monitoring and recovery for emergency cases.
• Assist emergency veterinarians in the care and treatment of inpatients, including those in the ICU.
• Monitor critical patients in the ICU ward.
• Perform radiographic imaging.
• Restrain patients for examinations and treatments.
• Prepare and discharge patients, including preoperative preparations, postoperative bandaging, and recovery.
• Communicate effectively with clients.
• Participate in inpatient rounds and pursue continuous learning through development lectures, reading relevant books, and journals.
• Execute any additional assignments as required by the team.

Desired skills and experience:

• Diploma in veterinary technology or relevant nursing qualifications.
• At least one (1) year of work experience in the veterinary industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
