About the Roles
Join our team as a WSH Coordinator (Marine / Shipyard) supporting marine construction, repair, and maintenance projects in the West Region. This 6-month contract role offers a structured 8:00 AM–8:00 PM rotating roster with a focus on workplace safety leadership and site compliance. Candidates will play a key role in maintaining safe work practices across high-risk activities, with a competitive basic salary package provided.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform duties as a Confined Space Safety Assessor and Work at Height Assessor for marine construction, repair, and maintenance activities.
- Verify worksite conditions and ensure all necessary safety measures are established before Permit-to-Work (PTW) approval.
- Conduct confined space assessments, including checks on gas testing, safe entry arrangements, standby personnel, communication systems, fall protection, and rescue provisions.
- Carry out routine site inspections to detect hazards, unsafe practices, and unsafe conditions, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with approved RA, SWP, Method Statements, PTW requirements, and project safety procedures.
- Monitor the proper implementation of PPE requirements, safety equipment, barricades, warning signage, and access controls.
- Stop or escalate unsafe activities that may pose immediate risks to personnel, property, or operations.
- Conduct Toolbox Meetings, Pre-Task Talks, RA briefings, Safety Time-Outs, and other relevant safety training sessions.
- Implement WSH procedures in accordance with Singapore legislation and company, client, and project requirements.
- Provide guidance to project teams, workers, and subcontractors on WSH standards, risk controls, and safe work practices.
- Develop, review, and support Emergency Response and Rescue Plans, including participation in emergency drills.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, track corrective actions, and maintain required WSH records and reports.
- Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Possess an Advanced Certificate in WSH (Level B) or equivalent, with valid WSH Coordinator Refresher Training where applicable.
- Hold relevant competency certifications as a Confined Space Safety Assessor and Manage Work at Height (MWAH).
- Certified/competent Rigger & Signalman and/or Lifting Supervisor with strong knowledge of lifting safety practices.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant WSH or site safety experience.
- Prior experience in marine, shipyard, offshore, construction, repair, or maintenance environments will be advantageous.
- Knowledgeable in Singapore WSH laws, Confined Space requirements, Work at Height practices, RA, and high-risk work controls.
- Experienced in managing RA, SWP, Method Statements, PTW, Lifting Plans, inspections, safety briefings, and related documentation.
- Familiar with incident investigations, corrective action follow-ups, emergency response procedures, safety reporting, and WSH documentation.
- Possess good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work independently alongside project teams and subcontractors.
