Job Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in retail seafood, supermarket fresh departments, cold storage, or food distribution.
• Experience in fresh and frozen seafood handling is preferred.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, cold chain management, and inventory control.
• Familiar with FIFO stock rotation, wastage control, and product quality checking.
• Able to supervise, train, and manage a team effectively.
• Physically fit and able to work in a cold/chilled environment.
• Responsible, hardworking, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Job Responsibilities / Job Description

• Inspect incoming fresh and frozen seafood for quality, freshness, temperature, weight, and condition.
• Monitor and maintain proper storage temperatures for fresh and frozen products.
• Manage stock inventory, FIFO rotation, expiry dates, wastage, and markdowns.
• Ensure fresh seafood displays, chillers, and freezers are clean, attractive, and properly stocked.
• Oversee seafood preparation such as scaling, gutting, cutting, filleting, portioning, and vacuum packing, where required.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, sanitation, and safety in accordance with company and food safety requirements.
• Supervise, train, and schedule department staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Monitor staff performance and ensure good customer service.
• Coordinate with suppliers and relevant departments regarding stock, quality, delivery, and operational issues.
• Ensure the department operates efficiently while minimizing product loss and wastage.
