Responsibilities
Job Description
Supervise daily commercial vehicle workshop operations to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of repair and maintenance jobs.
Plan, assign and monitor servicing, preventive maintenance, repair and diagnostic work for vans, lorries, trucks and fleet vehicles.
Lead and guide technicians by allocating jobs based on manpower, technical capability and priorities.
Monitor repair progress and ensure jobs are completed according to schedule and quality standards.
Provide hands-on technical guidance in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and vehicle-related issues.
Inspect completed work and conduct quality checks before vehicles are released.
Ensure preventive maintenance is carried out according to recommended schedules to minimise vehicle downtime.
Liaise with the Workshop Manager, operations team, drivers, administration and other departments on vehicle status and priorities.
Coordinate with the parts team to ensure timely availability of spare parts and materials.
Job Requirements
Hands-on experience in commercial vehicle repair and maintenance, preferably involving vans, lorries, trucks or fleet vehicles.
Prior experience as a Supervisor, Team Leader or Senior Mechanic in an automotive workshop is preferred.
Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle mechanical and electrical systems, diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and hands-on technical skills.
Good leadership skills with the ability to supervise and guide mechanics and technicians.
Familiar with workshop tools, equipment, diagnostic systems and safety procedures.
Valid Singapore Class 3/4 driving licence is an advantage.
