Responsibilities
An established commodities trading company is seeking a Contracts Specialist to join its Singapore/Dubai team. The successful candidate will support the preparation, review and administration of commercial trading contracts and work closely with various internal stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review and issue commercial contracts and related documentation for physical and financial commodity transactions based on agreed commercial terms.
Prepare contractual amendments, addendums and other supporting documentation as required.
Review contractual terms and identify potential commercial, operational, legal or compliance issues for further consideration by the relevant stakeholders.
Ensure contractual documentation is prepared in accordance with internal policies, established procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
Liaise with internal stakeholders including commercial, operations, legal, compliance, credit and other relevant functions to facilitate timely contract execution.
Communicate with external counterparties regarding contractual terms, documentation requirements, amendments and outstanding matters.
Maintain accurate and complete records of contracts, amendments, approvals and related correspondence in accordance with internal documentation requirements.
Monitor contractual deadlines and outstanding matters and follow up with relevant stakeholders where required.
Support the continuous improvement of contract administration processes and internal workflows.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
Prior experience in contracts, commercial administration, trade operations or a related function would be advantageous.
Exposure to commodities, energy, trading, shipping or an international commercial environment would be beneficial.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to review commercial documentation accurately.
Good organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with different stakeholders.
Proactive, responsible and comfortable working independently as well as within a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to additional digital tools, workflow systems or contract management systems would be advantageous.
