Job Description
Responsibilities
- Manage sourcing activities for direct and indirect materials, including fabrication parts, modules, standard components, and indirect items
- Align supplier strategy with purchasing objectives and engineering requirements
- Analyse material demand and allocate sourcing to suppliers based on capability and capacity
- Lead RFQ processes, cost analysis, and supplier negotiations to achieve optimal cost and quality
- Perform market analysis and identify new suppliers to support engineering and production needs
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams on new product introduction (NPI) and ongoing production support
- Drive continuous cost reduction initiatives and improve supply chain efficiency
- Manage supplier relationships, including improvement projects and long-term partnerships
- Support Zero Defect program and ensure supplier quality, reliability, and delivery performance
- Conduct supplier evaluation and participate in quarterly business reviews
- Maintain and update supplier database, purchasing info records, and source lists based on quality, cost, and delivery
- Improve lead time and ensure supplier compliance with material availability requirements
- Support critical negotiations on cost, lead time, and technical requirements
- Handle ad hoc tasks as assigned by management
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sourcing, procurement, or engineering roles
- Experience in capital equipment, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing environment is preferred
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, fabrication parts, and technical components
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is an advantage
- Proven experience in supplier management, cost negotiation, and sourcing strategies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Familiar with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
