Key Accountabilities

• Drive implementation and continuous improvement of Group physical security standards, procedures and operating practices across properties and businesses.

• Provide subject-matter leadership for CCTV, electronic access control, visitor management, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, security control rooms, panic and duress alarms, emergency public-address systems and related security technologies.

• Review security system designs, specifications, major upgrades and security-related capital projects to confirm alignment with Group standards, working with Technology, Engineering, Procurement, Legal and property teams.

• Lead crisis planning and preparedness, including crisis management plans, incident checklists, crisis playbooks, building emergency response plans, tabletop exercises, drills, lessons learned and corrective actions.

• Provide specialist operational support during major incidents and crises, including escalation, mitigation, stakeholder communication, response resources and operational recovery support.

• Manage Group support for high-profile, signature and complex events, including site reviews, security planning, staffing models, access and credentialing, protective operations, vendor coordination, command arrangements and contingency planning.

• Manage the operational response arising from travel-risk intelligence and assessments, including traveller monitoring, accountability, use of travel-risk platforms, high-risk traveller support and travel-related incident response.

• Coordinate the response to significant security incidents and oversee or support investigations, including planning, interviewing, evidence handling, liaison with Legal and People & Culture, reporting, corrective actions and case closure.

• Support audits, assessments, incident reviews and remediation plans by providing specialist input on physical security, crisis preparedness, event and travel operations, investigations, vendors and operational controls.

• Lead operational governance of security vendors, including due diligence input, mobilisation, scopes of work, service levels, performance monitoring, issue escalation and offboarding.

• Build strong relationships with property leadership, Property SOR teams, Technology, Engineering, Procurement, Legal, People & Culture, Communications, law enforcement, emergency services, government security contacts, industry peers and specialist providers.

• Coach and mentor Security and Risk colleagues across the Group, sharing practical guidance, building operational capability and supporting consistent application of Group standards.

• Provide clear operational updates, risk escalations, decision support and recommendations to the Vice President, Group Security & Operational Risk, while supporting standards development, training content and security operations projects.

General Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in security management, risk management, criminal justice, emergency management or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of luxury hotel operations, guest service expectations and security delivery in a 24/7 hospitality environment.
• Minimum 10 years’ relevant security experience, including at least 5 years in a management or leadership role with responsibility for regional or global operations.
• Strong knowledge of physical security operations, security systems, crisis planning and response, event security, travel security, investigations, incident management, security vendor governance, audit remediation, workplace violence prevention support and operational risk controls.
• Established relationships with law enforcement, government security agencies, emergency services, industry peers or relevant professional associations.
• Calm, discreet and decisive under pressure, with strong judgement, cultural sensitivity, stakeholder influence, operational discipline, confidentiality and the ability to support sensitive, time-critical security matters across jurisdictions.
• International travel is required for property visits, audits, major events, exercises, and incident support. The role may require work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, due to global operations, stakeholders across time zones, major events and incident or crisis response.
