Job Description

Responsibilities

Our client, a global investment bank based in Hong Kong, is now actively seeking a senior network manager to help lead their regional networking team across APAC. The successful candidate will

will directly manage a team of 10 direct reports, oversee delivery of network projects, and drive operational excellence across incident/problem management, change control, and service availability.

The role:

  1. Lead end-to-end network management for production environments, including design governance, operations, and continuous improvement.
  2. Manage a team of network engineers/operations staff, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and workforce planning.
  3. Own network operational KPIs/SKIs (availability, latency, throughput, incident metrics) and drive remediation plans.
  4. Oversee incident/problem/change management for network services, ensuring adherence to ITIL and internal controls.
  5. Manage network architecture for enterprise and trading connectivity, including segmentation, routing, switching, and firewall/security integration.
  6. Lead network resilience initiatives (DR/BCP, failover strategies, capacity planning) to meet business continuity requirements.
  7. Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Application/Trading teams to ensure network security and compliance (e.g., encryption, least privilege, logging).
  8. Oversee vendor/partner relationships and coordinate with global network teams for standardized architectures and runbooks.
  9. Drive network modernization and technology roadmap (e.g., datacenter upgrades, automation, monitoring improvements).
  10. Ensure robust monitoring/observability, including alert tuning, escalation procedures, and root-cause analysis.

What you offer:

  1. 15+ years of relevant experience in enterprise/global network engineering and operations.
  2. Strong people management experience with proven ability to lead 5–10 direct reports (team leadership, performance, and development).
  3. Deep hands-on knowledge of enterprise networking, including:
  4. Routing and switching (e.g., Cisco/Juniper or equivalent)
  5. LAN/WAN, VLAN/VRF, segmentation concepts
  6. Load balancing and traffic engineering
  7. Network security integration (firewalls, ACLs, secure connectivity patterns)
  8. Solid understanding of high-availability design and operational resilience practices.
  9. Experience in regulated environments and strong familiarity with change control/audit expectations.
  10. Proven ability to manage high-priority incidents and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders under time pressure.
  11. Strong communication skills and ability to influence without authority across global teams.
