About the role
Set up, operate, and maintain manual and CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements. Ensure dimensional accuracy, quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathe and milling machines for precision components
- Set up CNC milling/turning machines, install fixtures, workpieces, and cutting tools
- Load CNC programs, verify parameters, and perform first-piece setup
- Operate machine shop equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, band saws)
- Monitor machining operations, adjust settings, and perform offsets to achieve required tolerances
- Replace worn cutting tools and maintain tooling inventory
- Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections using precision instruments
- Ensure finished parts meet dimensional accuracy and quality standards
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance, lubrication, and machine cleaning
- Follow safety procedures, SOPs, and ISO requirements (ISO 9001/ISO 14001 where applicable)
About you
- SPM, Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in machining (manual lathe, CNC milling/turning)
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges)
- Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and CNC programming basics
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work within tight tolerances
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
