Our client, a regional financial services group, is seeking a hands-on credit professional to support its structured and bespoke financing activities across Asia Pacific.

Working closely with the Head of Regional Credit, you will evaluate and structure complex transactions, present independent credit recommendations, oversee higher-risk exposures and guide junior team members. This role offers exposure to transactions across Greater China and ASEAN, including financing involving APAC listed companies.

What you will do

• Lead the credit assessment and structuring of senior secured, mezzanine, structured and asset-backed financing transactions.
• Analyse borrowers’ financial statements, cash flows, collateral and repayment capacity, with a clear focus on downside protection.
• Develop practical security structures, covenants and other measures to mitigate credit risk.
• Prepare and present well-reasoned credit recommendations to the credit committee.
• Review and negotiate term sheets, facility agreements and security documents with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assess stressed or underperforming credits and recommend appropriate actions or recovery strategies.
• Review the work of junior team members and support the Head of Regional Credit on complex transactions and team matters.

What we are looking for

• At least 10 years of hands-on credit and lending experience, with substantial involvement in underwriting, structuring and executing transactions.
• Experience in private credit, direct lending or alternative credit is strongly preferred.
• Deal exposure involving senior secured, mezzanine, structured or asset-backed credit, and cash flow financing.
• Experience across APAC, particularly Greater China and ASEAN; exposure to financing involving listed companies.
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts, security structures, downside protection and recoveries.
• Ability to form an independent credit view and communicate it clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Experience reviewing work and guiding credit professionals.
