The Assistant Cabin Steward supports the Cabin Steward in maintaining the cleanliness, comfort and presentation of guest suites and staterooms within an assigned section.

Work aboard a luxury cruise ship following destination-rich worldwide itineraries that visit renowned cities, culturally significant ports and smaller coastal destinations across multiple continents. Build valuable international hospitality experience while travelling the world.

Important: Cruise ship grading differs from land-based hotel grading. Depending on relevant experience and the client’s assessment, candidates may be considered for a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role.

• This is a full-time position. Part-time applications will not be considered.

• Minimum high school education or international equivalent.

• Minimum 3 years of experience or training in the housekeeping or rooms division of a 4-star or 5-star hotel.

• Cruise ship experience is preferred but not compulsory.

• Fluent in written and spoken English.

• Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.

• Able to prioritise tasks and work independently under supervision.

• Able to work under pressure and collaborate with an international team.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Must be able to lift or move up to 25 kilograms without assistance.

Salary

• Salary: USD 1,700

• Contract duration: 8 months

• Work under the direction of the Cabin Steward to clean and maintain assigned guest suites and staterooms.

• Vacuum, sweep and scrub floors, and clean showers, sinks and toilets.

• Clean walls, ceilings, verandas, windows, draperies and upholstery when required.

• Empty wastebaskets and transport rubbish to the designated processing area.

• Follow the ship’s waste-separation and garbage-handling procedures.

• Assist guests with luggage during embarkation and disembarkation.

• Communicate clearly and professionally with guests.

• Report guest requests, maintenance problems and other relevant matters promptly to the supervisor.

• Maintain cleaning equipment, linen and cleaning materials in good condition.

• Conduct inventory checks and complete assigned duties within the required working hours.

• Follow USPH sanitation standards, safety procedures and shipboard regulations.

• Maintain high standards of personal grooming, hygiene and uniform presentation.

• Assist with loading provisions when required.

• Attend mandatory meetings, training sessions and safety drills.

• Maintain confidentiality and perform other duties assigned by shipboard management.
