In-House Counsel (Litigation & Dispute Resolution)

We are seeking an experienced litigation lawyer to join an organisation as In-House Counsel, with a focus on contentious matters including probate, estate and trust-related disputes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage ongoing litigation and dispute resolution matters.
• Coordinate with external solicitors on strategy, court proceedings, settlements and case management.
• Review pleadings, affidavits, submissions, witness statements, legal opinions and settlement proposals.
• Explain complex legal issues and developments clearly to Management and non-legal stakeholders.
• Monitor litigation timelines, risks, costs and external legal counsel.
• Coordinate documents and information required for court proceedings.
• Assist with negotiations, mediation and settlement discussions.
• Provide legal research and advisory support.
• Support other litigation, commercial and property-related disputes as required.

Key Requirements

• LL.B from a recognised university and admission to the Malaysian Bar.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant litigation/dispute resolution experience.
• Strong exposure to contentious probate, estate and/or trust disputes.
• Experience in beneficial ownership, shareholder or family-business disputes is advantageous.
• Property disputes, adjudication or arbitration experience is an added advantage.
• Strong drafting, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple matters and deadlines.

Ideal Candidate

A practising litigator handling complex contentious matters who is interested in transitioning into an in-house role and is comfortable managing external solicitors while providing practical, commercially focused advice to stakeholders.
