Job Description

Responsibilities

Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support financial reporting, group consolidation, and corporate accounting activities. You will help ensure that financial information is complete, accurate, and prepared within agreed reporting timelines. The emphasis of the position will depend on the assigned responsibilities and group structure.

For financial reporting responsibilities, you will prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and reporting packages for internal and external review. You will analyze movements in financial results, investigate discrepancies, and provide clear explanations of significant variances. You will also assist with disclosure preparation and maintain documentation supporting accounting treatments and reporting adjustments.

For consolidation responsibilities, you will coordinate reporting submissions from group entities, review their completeness, and prepare consolidation workings. This may include intercompany reconciliations and eliminations, foreign currency translation, and the allocation of results to non-controlling interests where applicable. You will follow up on reporting differences and help maintain consistency across group accounting policies.

For corporate accounting responsibilities, you will prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and complete balance sheet reconciliations as part of the monthly and annual close. Across these activities, you will support audit requests, coordinate with relevant teams on outstanding items, and recommend practical improvements to reporting workflows and financial controls.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Relevant experience in financial reporting, group consolidation, corporate accounting, or external audit.
  • A strong understanding of double-entry accounting, financial statements, and month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Familiarity with the accounting standards applicable to the organization, such as IFRS or relevant local reporting standards.
  • For reporting responsibilities, experience preparing financial statements, disclosure schedules, and supporting accounting documentation.
  • For consolidation responsibilities, familiarity with intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, and group reporting packages.
  • Ability to prepare accurate journal entries, reconcile accounts, and investigate unusual balances or transactions.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to explain financial movements and identify inconsistencies in reporting data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting or ERP systems; consolidation software experience is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate reporting deadlines across multiple stakeholders.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with business units, auditors, and external advisers.
  • Professional integrity, attention to detail, and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
