Role Description

The Internal Audit Associate / Internal Audit Manager / Internal Audit Director provides independent assessments of governance, risk management, and internal controls. Responsibilities include assessing risks, testing controls, documenting findings, recommending improvements, and monitoring agreed corrective actions.

The Associate performs assigned audit procedures and prepares working papers. The Manager plans engagements, supervises teams, and reviews findings, while the Director develops the risk-based audit plan, oversees audit quality, and reports significant issues to executive leadership and the audit committee.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in internal audit, risk assessment, internal controls, or assurance appropriate to the position.
• Understanding of audit planning, evidence gathering, control testing, and documentation.
• Ability to analyse processes and data, identify control gaps, and assess their business impact.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills for explaining findings and practical recommendations.
• Proficiency in Excel, audit management systems, and relevant data analysis tools.
• Sound professional judgement, objectivity, confidentiality, and ability to challenge constructively.
• For associate positions, ability to complete assigned testing and maintain clear, well-supported working papers.
• For manager positions, experience leading engagements, reviewing audit work, coaching staff, and monitoring remediation.
• For director positions, proven experience setting audit strategy, leading teams, and engaging audit committees; a relevant professional qualification such as CIA or equivalent is advantageous.
