Responsibilities
Job Summary
You will support hospital operations by safely transporting patients, medical equipment, and materials within the hospital, assisting clinical services, and maintaining hygiene and professionalism in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting.
Responsibilities
Transfer patients between wards, departments, diagnostic centers, procedure rooms, and operating theatres using wheelchairs, stretchers, trolleys, or beds to ensure timely and safe patient movement
Transport medical equipment, consumables, medical records, blood products, linen, and other essential items within the hospital to support clinical and operational needs
Assist Emergency Department flow by facilitating imaging appointments, admission and discharge movements, peri-operative logistics, and urgent time-critical tasks such as blood runs
Handle deceased patient transfers with dignity and compliance, when within the scope of duties
Follow hospital cleaning procedures, infection control protocols, and hygiene standards consistently throughout shifts
Use electronic devices or mobile apps to receive task assignments, update work status, and report issues promptly and accurately
Maintain professional conduct, respecting patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
Demonstrate reliability by being punctual, dependable, and committed to completing assigned duties safely and efficiently
Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting light loads, and cleaning duties as required during shifts
Carry out any other portering-related tasks assigned within the institution’s scope
Other Information
Work Location: Hospital in the East
Shift: 7am - 7pm or 8am - 8pm (6 days work, 1 day off)
