Digispark Hiring! Software Developer Intern in Johor - Ricebowl

DigiSpark Sdn Bhd is a Johor Bahru-based digital transformation company focused on manufacturing operations.

Our core product, IQSystem, is a web-based quality management, inspection, monitoring and traceability platform designed to help manufacturers move from paper checksheets, Excel records and disconnected quality processes to structured digital workflows.

We’re looking for a Software Developer Intern — and you don’t have to wait until your official internship starts.

DigiSpark is currently looking for a Diploma student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field to join us on our ongoing IQSystem UI/UX Modernization Project.

Priority will be given to at least 4 months internship, especially those whose formal internship starts around December 2026 or January 2027.

Here’s the slightly different part:

You can start working with us part-time now.

We currently have an intern working on this project until December, and we would like the next intern to overlap with him first — understand the existing work, learn the IQSystem product, get familiar with the codebase, and gradually take on more responsibility before the formal internship begins.

The arrangement can be hybrid / work from home / remote. DigiSpark’s office is based in Johor Bahru.

What will you actually work on?

This is not an internship where you spend three months doing admin work or building a dummy school project.

You will work on IQSystem, our real web-based quality management and inspection platform used for manufacturing environments.

The project focuses on improving the current application’s:

• UI/UX

• Navigation and information architecture

• Forms, tables and workflows

• Responsive desktop / tablet experience

• Reusable interface components

• User personalization

• Testing and documentation

Our current development environment includes:

Next.js • TypeScript • Tailwind CSS • shadcn/ui / Radix • Git / GitHub

Figma or similar UI/UX tools may also be used.

You do not need manufacturing experience when you join us. We will guide you on the product and manufacturing domain.

What we care about more is whether you are willing to:

• learn an existing production codebase

• ask questions before changing things

• take feedback positively

• explain your design and coding decisions

• work properly with Git / GitHub

• test your own work

• understand AI-generated code instead of simply copy-pasting it

Working arrangement

For students who have not started formal internship yet:

Part-time pre-internship:

Flexible hours around your classes, with agreed online collaboration and review sessions.

When your formal internship begins:

Working hours: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday

Location: Hybrid / Work from home / remote

Allowance

For Diploma candidates:

RM300–RM500 per month, depending on the agreed working arrangement and candidate fit.

There will also be an additional performance bonus after successful completion of the project.

The bonus is meant for interns who produce a genuinely strong result — good implementation, meaningful UI/UX improvement, reusable components, proper testing, documentation and good project handover.
