Qualifications & Fit:

• Fluent in Mandarin (written and spoken)
• Active personal user of Xiaohongshu with an understanding of platform content and performance
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma/degree in marketing, communications, media, design, or a related field
• Can write naturally in Mandarin — clean, specific, human copy
• Comfortable with basic content tools such as Canva and CapCut
• Interest in brands, sustainability, design, or lifestyle
• Self-directed and proactive, able to bring ideas rather than only follow briefs

Unseen Matters is a Kuala Lumpur-based sustainable gifting studio that partners with corporations to create concept-driven, sustainable gifts and branded merchandise using materials such as coffee leather, recycled ocean plastic, mycelium, cork, and reclaimed wood. The studio seeks a Mandarin-speaking Content & Social Media Marketing Intern to build and grow its presence on Xiaohongshu (XHS) and support content across other social channels, working directly with the founder and the marketing team on real client projects and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, create, and publish Mandarin content for Xiaohongshu — product showcases, behind-the-scenes stories, material spotlights, client project highlights, and brand storytelling posts
• Research XHS trends, formats, and content styles relevant to gifting, sustainable lifestyle, corporate branding, and design — and adapt them for Unseen Matters
• Write captions and short-form copy in Mandarin that feel native to the platform — not translated, not stiff, not corporate
• Support content creation across Instagram, TikTok, and other social channels as needed — repurposing, adapting, or creating from scratch
• Assist with photo and video content — basic shooting, editing, and formatting for social
• Track content performance — what's getting traction, what's not, and why
• Help build a content calendar and maintain a consistent posting rhythm on XHS
