Jobs Kreate is recruiting on behalf of a client for a shipboard Head Waiter position. The successful candidate will support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily food and beverage operations, maintaining high guest-service standards and leading a multicultural restaurant team.

Important: Cruise ship grading may differ from land-based hospitality structures. Candidates may be offered a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role, subject to the cruise line’s assessment and operational requirements.

• Open to Malaysian and Singaporean citizens only.

• This is a full-time position. Part-time applications will not be considered.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Head Waiter or in a comparable senior restaurant service role within a 4-star or 5-star hospitality or restaurant environment.

• Onboard experience in the same position or a higher-level restaurant role, such as Restaurant Manager, is required.

• Physically fit and in good health.

• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.

• Additional language abilities are an advantage.

• Experience leading multicultural teams.

• Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, guest-service standards and public health requirements.

• Strong leadership, coaching, motivational and team-building skills.

• Guest-focused, service-oriented and able to work effectively under pressure.

• Professional appearance and high personal hygiene standards.

Salary

• Salary: USD 3,000

• Contract duration: 6 months

• Manage daily restaurant operations and independently oversee assigned outlets.

• Plan staff schedules, assign service sections and monitor attendance in accordance with onboard requirements.

• Manage guest reservations, seating arrangements and service flow.

• Ensure guest allergies and special requests are communicated to the relevant teams.

• Coordinate with the Restaurant Manager, Executive Chef, Galley Team and Bar Team for daily service, menu presentations, ship functions and special events.

• Conduct inventory checks, stock takes and ordering while working within restaurant cost budgets.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, grooming, equipment care and service readiness.

• Coach and develop restaurant team members, conduct performance reviews and support crew performance, recognition and retention.

• Contribute towards restaurant quality and financial KPIs while complying with public health, environmental, safety, security and emergency procedures.
