Youth Development Basketball Coach (Full-Time / Part-Time)
Job Summary
The Youth Development Coach leads Starter and Development basketball programmes at academy satellite locations, focusing on teaching fundamental skills, building player confidence, and maintaining high engagement and energy.
Responsibilities
Deliver structured, high-energy basketball training sessions that develop physical literacy, motor coordination, and fundamental skills for youth players.
Communicate player progress and term milestones effectively to parents as the primary on-ground contact at designated venues.
Manage court setup, oversee equipment handling, and coordinate assistant and intern support during busy training periods.
Identify talented players ready for advanced trials and collaborate with the Technical Lead to support their development.
Required competencies and certifications
Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years coaching youth basketball in schools, clubs, or community clinics.
Possess a collegiate, varsity, or competitive club basketball playing background.
Hold a Level 1 coaching certification or relevant sports coaching/kinesiology diploma.
Maintain valid First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
Exhibit strong enthusiasm, patience, and effective classroom management skills for coaching young athletes.
