The Junior Assistant Cabin Steward supports the housekeeping team with the daily cleaning of premium guest suites, balconies and assigned accommodation areas.

Work aboard a luxury cruise ship following destination-rich worldwide itineraries that visit renowned cities, culturally significant ports and smaller coastal destinations across multiple continents. Build valuable international hospitality experience while travelling the world.

Important: Cruise ship grading differs from land-based hotel grading. Depending on relevant experience and the client’s assessment, candidates may be considered for a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role.

• This is a full-time position. Part-time applications will not be considered.

• Minimum high school education or international equivalent.

• Minimum 3 years of experience or training in the housekeeping or rooms division of a 4-star or 5-star hotel.

• Cruise ship experience is preferred but not compulsory.

• Fluent in written and spoken English.

• Positive, flexible and able to work effectively as part of an international team.

• Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.

• Able to prioritise tasks and work independently under supervision.

• Able to work according to scheduled hours and perform duties under pressure.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• A valid STCW certificate is required before joining.

• Must be able to lift or move up to 25 kilograms without assistance.

Salary

• Salary: USD 810

• Contract duration: 8 months

• Assist with the daily cleaning and presentation of premium guest suites.

• Wash, clean and arrange balconies according to established standards.

• Report balcony maintenance issues promptly.

• Collect dirty linen from assigned decks and deliver it to the laundry room.

• Collect clean linen and distribute it to Cabin Stewards on the assigned decks.

• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests.

• Relieve the Assistant Cabin Steward when required.

• Assist with guest luggage delivery, distribution and collection.

• Perform night duties and special cleaning assignments when scheduled.

• Clean assigned areas such as the medical centre, accommodation areas and public spaces.

• Conduct marble cleaning, carpet cleaning and shampooing when required.

• Maintain housekeeping equipment, linen and cleaning materials in good condition.

• Follow USPH sanitation standards, shipboard safety procedures and waste-handling requirements.

• Maintain professional grooming, hygiene and uniform standards.

• Attend required meetings, training sessions and safety drills.

• Maintain confidentiality and perform other duties assigned by shipboard management.
