I received training at TNB Connaught Bridge Sdn Bhd for a period of 6 months, where I gained valuable technical knowledge, particularly in relation to the power plant. The Connaught Bridge Power Station is a combined cycle plant that utilizes both gas and steam turbines to generate electricity. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to learn about the startup process of the power plant during my training, as there was an outage at that time. My supervisor provided excellent guidance, teaching me how to interpret drawings and codes for various components and instruments. The most challenging aspect of the job was creating reports on the auxiliary steam during the startup process. Despite the challenges, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the plant, as my colleagues were friendly and supportive. I was the only female trainee, but I was treated with respect and as part of the team.
