The International Award for Young People (IAYP) is a challenging self-development programme for all young people worldwide aged 14-25.  It equips them with life skills, builds their confidence, and engages them with their communities.

 

The Award began in 1956 in the UK, where it is known as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Over the last 50 years it has spread across the globe, because both the philosophy and the format have proved attractive and adaptable to many cultures.  To date over 7 million young people have experienced life-changing opportunities through the Award. The Award in Indonesia is known as Adinugraha Internasional (The International Award for Young People – Indonesia).

 

Asia Pacific’s future as a harmonious and prosperous region depends on the strength of relationships and ensuring young people can develop as member of their locals, regional and global communities.

Across 30 Asia Pacific countries, over 300,000 young Award participants are engaging with their communities and developing as active citizens who give back and make a genuine difference to society. The Award in Indonesia is being further developed across the country. It currently operates in Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, South Sumatra and Bali and reaches 2000 participants.  

 

This spirit of co-operation and sense of community affirms that young people can play a valuable role in the peace, prosperity and stability of society.
