Job Summary

A detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to handle various accounting tasks and support the finance department. The accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Highly reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of performing efficiently in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

· Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial records.

· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.

· Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing financial analysis, insights, and supporting data to management.

· Support the year-end audit process by preparing required documentation and working closely with external auditors.

· Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation and submission of tax returns and statutory filings.

· Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues, discrepancies, and payment-related matters.

· Assist in ad-hoc assignments, financial analysis, and special projects as instructed by the Finance Manager or senior management.

Requirements

Candidates must possess at least a Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting, mainly in detailed financial analysis, interpretation, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, preferably within trading.
Proficiency in accounting software (SQL), Microsoft Excel, and other financial tools. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Attention to detail, high accuracy in work, and knowledge in a full set of accounts will be an added advantage.

Please note that being a member of MIA (Malaysian Institute of Accountants) is a compulsory requirement for this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
