About Reproductive Health Association Melaka
The Reproductive Health Association Melaka (RHAM), formerly known as Family Planning Association Melaka is a non-government, non-profit organization that was formed in 1957 in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights including family planning. RHAM has evolved through the years from a mere charity organization to a responsive NGO professionally run by volunteers and staff. RHAM is committed to improving access of sexual and reproductive health to all communities including the most underserved who for reasons such as poverty, geographically inaccessibility, marital status, culture, age, gender or sexuality are not adequately served by established SRH service delivery programmes. We work in five priority areas: Advocacy, Access, Adolescents, HIV & AIDS and Abortion. In addition to providing essential SRH services through our clinics and outreach activities, we work with governments, policy makers and opinion leaders at all levels to increase support for SRHR in Melaka. Our work allows people to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive lives. RHAM office is located on the first floor of Dewan Hang Tuah with its main clinic on the ground floor.
