Planet Asia commenced business in Nov 1995 and was founded by Mr Wilson Tan who decided to start the business after having served for 15 years in the US based chemical giant,

Monsanto Chemical Co. of St. Louis, MO. His last position was the Country Manager of Singapore operations.

The initial years of Planet Asia's existence proved to be extremely challenging as it coincided with the Asian financial crisis. Nevertheless the company persevered and limped along. The breakthrough came in mid-1999 and ever since the beginning of 2000, the company's growth exploded and by the end of the decade in March 2019 (FY 19/20), the sales revenue had exceeded SGD 35 million (RM 107 million) with an assets SGD 10 million, growing at a CAGR of more than 20%.

Product & Services1. Polymer Products - We deal with a wide range of specialty engineering plastic resins such as ABS, PC, PET, PMMA, POM, PBT, PA12, PA6, PA66, LCP, PEEK, PPS, PSU and Thermoplastic elastomers. FDA compliant biocompatible/medical ABS, MABS, MBS, SBC/K-Resin, SMMA, SAN, PS, PC, POM, PP, PE, TPE, TPU and PVC compounds as well as silicones, medical tubing, micro-tubing, film and sterilize bag. Biodegradable and bio-based polymers. Nucleating agent, antioxidants, HALS, UV and FR Additives as well as Mineral fillers.

2. Metal Cleaning Products - We supply 'green' hydrocarbon-based cleaning/degreasing solution from Japan as well as cleaning/degreasing machines for metal cleaning.

3. Engineering Products - We are actively developing a series of engineering products like Mechanical seals, valves and steam traps, used in petrochemical plants, power plants etc.

4. Fuel Treatment Additive – We supply cleaning solution with global brand fuel treatment additive for tank in the marine industry. It is a cleaning solution to address fuel incompatibility and contamination of fuel. It breaks down asphaltene to prevent sludge and carbon build-up and overall improve combustion and cleaner tank for inspection.

5. Lubricants – We supply wide range of Lubricants specially designed for coping with high operation demands and optimising cylinder oil feed rates and other parts of the vessel in latest range of modern Low Speed 2-stroke and 4-stroke Marine Diesel Engine using High Sulphur Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) as well as In-land Diesel Engine driven commercial vehicles.
