The color separation process in those early days involved carefully tilting developing chemicals in a large tray, dot etching and manually painting out highlights and drop off masks. It was an arduous task requiring a steady hand and a keen eye for color. A mistake meant an expensive and time consuming restart. This early heritage has left Metro-Engravers stamped with an important professional hallmark – craftsmanship.

First established in 1966 as a provider of metal block engravings and monotone lithography, Metro-Engravers has then evolved to become a leading supplier of high quality pre-press services in the country. From its early beginnings, it undertook its first color separation assignment soon after and was one of the East Asian region for this craft.
