Being a prison officer was a valuable experience for me. I gained a lot of knowledge about crime and gained insight into why people become involved in criminal activities. Working with my senior officer was enjoyable and he served as a role model for me. The most challenging aspect of my job was dealing with the stress of dissatisfied prisoners who would sometimes incite riots. One of the highlights of my time as a prison officer was traveling to Sabah for a football match.
