THE BRIEF

Established in 1987, Chao Tse Ann & Partners Pte Ltd is an architectural firm with a wide-ranging portfolio and regional reputation. In its 32nd year, the firm desired a total branding overhaul to elevate its appeal and express what it stood for.

THE IDEA

To convey the firm’s transformation and updated approach, a new name was chosen — CTAP ARCHITECTS. This truncation allowed for greater versatility on digital platforms, improved pronounceability and recallability, and displayed the brand’s evolution while paying homage to its roots.

Upon review of past works, a core belief was identified that underlay each project — “ARCHITECTURE IS THE SYMPHONY OF SPACE.”

The logomark is derived from this philosophy and the quintessential building block. By shaping lines and shading within each individual block, a composition is created that highlights the firm’s versatility and deft control of space.

Design elements are modified for optical balance, showcasing the firm’s commitment to aesthetic harmony and user experience.

The website grid overlay is inspired by architectural blueprints, symbolising how CTAP ARCHITECTS is the platform to realise architectural perfection. Design cues, including the scroll button and menu icon, are drawn from the building block, demonstrating the firm’s holistic approach and dynamic adaptability.
