1. ABOUT US

We, C H QUAY LAW CHAMBERS (previously known as C. H. QUAY, NG & PARTNERS) is a team-up between father, daughter and son with a view to recruiting more lawyers with varied expertise and experience.

The firm was a firm originally established by Quay Chin Huat in 1998, and pursuant to a merger execise, it was renamed as C. H. QUAY, NG & PARTNERS in 2008 and thereafter in 2019, it was finally named as C H QUAY LAW CHAMBERS.

The objective of the firm is to establish a base practice in Puchong, Selangor Darul Ehsan and the firm is committed to expanding their law practice to other states in Malaysia.

4. ABOUT THE LAWYERS

4.1 QUAY CHIN HUAT - MANAGING PARTNER

QUAY CHIN HUAT graduated from the University of London with an LL.B. (Honours) degree in 1989, and further obtained a post-graduate degree in Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the same university in 1993, specialising in corporate, insurance and shipping law. He was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, London in 1990.

Upon returning to Malaysia, he commenced his legal career in 1994 with SHEARN DELAMORE & CO, as a chambering student, and was admitted to practise as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 26 April 1995.

He then practised as a litigation lawyer in ZAID IBRAHIM & CO, and thereafter practised as a conveyancing lawyer in KHAW & HUSSEIN (now KHAW & PARTNERS), predominantly in the areas of banking, commercial and conveyancing, including advising on a wide range of property transactions, developer’s responsibilities, properties financing and the standardisation of loan documents for banks and finance companies.

He also practised in the firm of RASHID & LEE as a corporate lawyer, with emphasis on commercial law and corporate law, including the drafting of all types of commercial contracts such as joint-ventures, project management, consultancy, shares sale and lease agreements, building and supply contracts and advisory work on a wide range of other related issues. He has also done a public listing exercise including conducting a legal due diligence audit. Some of the security documentation done by him include corporate loan/trade facilities of a maximum aggregate of RM45 million. 

Before entering the legal profession, Quay Chin Huat spent more than 6 years in GENTING BERHAD (now RESORTS WORLD BERHAD) in audit, accounts and casino treasury division. Armed with accounting and auditing experience behind him and having worked in private sector before have given him the edge to analyse and solve business problems not solely from the legal perspective but, with a blend of commercial consideration.

Having worked in private sector, coupled with the legal training and experiences across the board, in litigation works, conveyancing and corporate works have equipped him with the confidence to start his own legal practice back in 1998.

4.2 JANICE QUAY SHEAU FERN - PARTNER

JANICE QUAY SHEAU FERN graduated from the Univerisity of London with an LL.B. (Honours) degree in 2016 and thereafter went on to complete her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in 2018. She thereafter chambered in VALERIE CHONG & CO and was admitted to practise as an advicate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 30 August 2019.

Her exposure in VALERIE CHONG & CO was predominantly in general civil litigation, a handful of criminal works and a fair bit of immigration works and conveyancing. She joined C H QUAY LAW CHAMBERS in 2020 as a partner, taking charge of the conveyancing division.

4.3 AARON QUAY WERN HAN - PARTNER

AARON QUAY WERN HAN graduated from the University of Nottingham with an LL.B. (Honours) degree in 2018, and thereafter went in complete his Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) in 2021. He thereafter chambered in K H LIM & CO and was admitted to practise as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 24 June 2022.

His exposure in K H LIM & CO was predominantly in civil litigation. He joined C H QUAY LAW CHAMBERS in 2022 as a partner, taking charge of the litigation department.
