Job Title: CNC Technician

Job Summary

The CNC Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting CNC machines to produce high-quality parts according to engineering drawings and production specifications. The role ensures machines operate efficiently while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

Set up CNC machines (milling, turning, drilling, or machining centers) according to production requirements.
Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently to meet production schedules.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and work instructions.
Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine parameters.
Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality inspections using measuring instruments.
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.
Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and machining issues to minimize downtime.
Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic machine repairs.
Replace worn cutting tools and maintain tooling inventory.
Record production data, machine downtime, and maintenance activities.
Ensure products comply with customer specifications and quality standards.
Maintain good housekeeping practices (5S) in the work area.
Comply with company policies, ISO procedures, and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements.
Report equipment abnormalities, safety hazards, and quality issues to the supervisor.
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Train and guide CNC Operators when required.

Qualifications

Certificate, Diploma, or Vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Machining, or a related field.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in CNC machining (preferred).
Experience with CNC Milling and/or CNC Lathe machines.
Knowledge of CNC programming (G-code/M-code) is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.

- Knowledge of machining processes and cutting tools.

- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as:

Vernier calliper, Micrometer, Height gauge, Dial indicator, Bore gauge

- Basic understanding of CNC programming and editing.

-Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Good communication and teamwork.

- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Time management and ability to work under pressure.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
